Burn Number Two!

This is what the side of the driveway looked like before our work day today.  Not pretty, I know!  Less pretty when you spend six hours with two adults and six kids working (?) side by side by side, sharing (?) tools and enjoying (???) each other’s company…. No, everyone got along pretty well, there was minimal whining, and we accomplished TONS!

Burn number two raged for about four hours, leaving us with lots of ash to use in the chicken coop later, a nice bonus!

This cute little Spotted salamander was uncovered when we lifted a three year old tarp covered with old mulch.  He was the big prize leading to a mini home school lesson for the kids.  He had company too, almost a dozen Eastern Red Backed salamanders in various states of repose were also rudely awakened when we relocated their cover.

And here is the finished product.  You may notice a few stumps that still remain, we will be having a “stump day” after we move in.  All in all, I think it is MUCH better, how about you?
